PLANT SALE REPOTTING

Burlington Dismas House needs green thumb volunteers to help with the annual plant sale by filling pots and transplanting. Potting takes place Tuesdays and Fridays, April 26 to May 24, 9 a.m. to noon and/or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Kimberly Parsons at 658-0381 or email kim@dismasofvermont.org.

PREPARING SUMMER CAMP

YWCA of Vermont needs help preparing Camp Hochelaga in South Hero for its 97th season by cleaning, doing yard and garden work, carpentry and minor maintenance. Duty days are on May 6 and 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contact Terry Melton at 862-7520 or email terry.melton@ywcavt.org.

GREEN UP THE REFUGE

Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge asks you join them on Green Up Day on May 6 from 9 a.m. to noon. Efforts will concentrate on river cleanup using refuge boats. The work requires rubber or hip boots for walking in wet areas. Contact Dave Frisque at 868-4781 or email dave_frisque@fws.gov.

HOUSING CLEANUP

Champlain Housing Trust needs help cleaning up two Burlington housing sites on May 7, 10 a.m. to noon. Ice cream will be given to participants. Contact Anna Herman at 862-6244 or email aherman@champlainhousingtrust.org.

COTS WALK ASSISTANCE

COTS, the Committee on Temporary Shelter, needs many volunteers for its annual COTS Walk at Battery Park on Sunday, May 1. POP-UP SALE

Dress for Success Burlington will hold its 2nd annual Pop-up Sale at Burlington Town Center on May 2. Sign up for 2-hour shifts throughout the day, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.to arrange items, decorate, set up storage and return unsold items to the office. MENTOR TRAINING

Mercy Connections is seeking mentors to support women making the transition form correctional facilities to life in Chittenden County. Mentors can have a profound influence on individual women as they work to rebuild their lives. Training begins on May 4 and runs on Wednesdays for an additional four weeks.
