The rehabilitation work along Routes 2 and 2A through Williston that began last May and halted in October will resume Thursday with a focus on traffic signals.
According to the Vermont Agency of Transportation, new traffic signals will be installed at the intersection of Route 2 and Harvest Lane/Blair Park and Route 2 and North/South Brownell roads. New signals at nine other Williston intersections were completed in the fall.
The new signals are coordinated with each other to maximize traffic flow, and wirelessly connected to VTrans headquarters in Montpelier for remote management of settings and timing.
Crews will begin installing foundations for new signal poles at Harvest Lane and North and South Brownell roads on Thursday. Construction hours will be from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained during rush hours, but traffic may be restricted to one lane from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., according to VTrans.
