Residents driving through the Williston Historic Village may have noticed approximately 30 teal bows decorating trees, signs and utility poles. The bows are part of Turn The Towns Teal, a national awareness campaign for ovarian cancer and its symptoms, which are often subtle. The bows have information about ovarian cancer and its symptoms, and will be hung through the month of September.
Symptoms include bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, vague but persistent gastrointestinal upsets, difficulty eating or feeling full quickly, urinary symptoms, unexplained changes in bowel habits, unexplained weight gain/loss, ongoing unusual fatigue, back pain and more.
