A Chittenden County youth hockey team, which includes Williston players, recently won the state championship for its age group.
The Chittenden-South Burlington Squirt AB Team won its games in Montpelier on Feb. 12 and will compete in a New England regional tournament at the end of the month.

Williston residents Max Akey, Kyler Murray, Isaac Paquette and Jack Locker play on the AB team. During the regular season, the team’s record was 14-9-7.
Youth hockey players ages 9 and 10 compete on the Squirt squads. Players from ages 7 through 18 compete in various age-appropriate teams.
Now that the Squirt AB team has won the Vermont title in its age group, it will compete against similar teams from throughout New England at the Squirt Tier 3 sectionals in Shelton, Conn. on March 19-21.
