Boys varsity soccer

Coach: TJ Mead (seventh year)

Key returning veterans: Shane Haley, senior forward; Zack Evans, junior back; Joe Castano, junior midfield

Leading newcomers: Patrick McCue, sophomore back; Jeremy Richard, freshmen midfield

Season Prospects: We’re looking as a team to return to a more concentrated focus on both team and individual defense. We’ll have a nice mixture of youth and experience on the squad, with nine returning players.

Girls varsity soccer

Coach: Brad Parker (25 years)

Key veterans: Captains Kate Raszka and Taylor Goldsborough will play key roles as leaders on and off the field. Both have been on the team since sophomore year and are seasoned veterans as seniors.

Leading newcomers: Yet to be determined, as eight players were replaced from last year’s team.

Season prospects: Should be competitive, as the sophomores from last year’s team appear even hungrier this year to assume major roles.

Varsity football

Coach: Jim Provost (fifth year)

Key returning veterans: Alec Distler, Peter Wernhoff, Harvey Ottinger, Timmy Halvorson, Ryan Beaudry, Will Austin, Davis Mikell, Pat Shea, Steele DuBrul, Lucien Bedard, Kyle Williams, Rex McCoy, Trevor Kennedy

Leading newcomers: Jason Cora, Connor Gobeille, Alex Bulla, Graham Belisle, Parker Dunn, Cade Knudson, Brad Bissonette, Pierce Farrington, Hayden Smit, Matt Goldsborough

Season prospects: This team should be competing for one of the playoff spots in a very competitive Division 1, with the hope of going further than last year.

Girls cross-country

Coach: Scott Bliss (14 years)

Returning Veterans: Taylor Spillane, senior; Aleksey Jordick, senior; Julienne Devita, senior; Autumn Eastman, junior

Key newcomers: Carly Neeld, sophomore; Abbie Keim, sophomore; Emma Putre, sophomore; Rachel Slimovitch, sophomore; Evelyn Needham sophomore; Kestral Grevatt, junior; Carly Caswell, junior

Season prospects: Should compete for Vermont State Championship in Division 1, then, if healthy, be competitive in New England Championship with another attempt at Nike Nationals.

Boys cross-country

Season prospects: Should be one of the top three or four teams in Divisions 1 and qualify for New Englands.

Varsity field hockey

Coach: Kate McDonald (11 years)

Key returning veterans: Jenna Cloutier (captain, midfield); Robin Powell (captain, midfield); Kathryn Loucks (captain, forward); Evangeline Dunphy (goalkeeper)

Leading newcomers: Sami Harvey (forward/defense); Emily O’Brien (midfield)

Season prospects: New team with new faces, we’ll be working hard to contend in the highly competitive Metro League. Focus on team cohesion, strong on-field communication and utilizing our speed. Looking forward to another great season!
