Two Canadian teams are the next opponents for Champlain Valley Union High’s boys ice hockey team.
The Redhawks will face off against Loyola of Canada Friday at 3 p.m., then take on Lower Canada on Saturday.
CVU is 2-2 after winning the Beech Tourney’s consolation game against Colchester High 3-0 last Friday. The Redhawks played a tense game against South Burlington in the tournament’s opening game, held Thursday at Leddy Park. The teams were tied 3-3 at the end of the game, and CVU ultimately lost a shoot-out 2-1.
MMU/CVU ice hockey
The Mount Mansfield Union/Champlain Valley Union girls ice hockey team will take on Rutland High Saturday. It was set to play Rice Memorial High Wednesday afternoon, after the Observer’s press deadline.
The team was 2-1 going into Wednesday’s game after a 7-1 victory over Brattleboro on Saturday.
Last Wednesday, the team beat South Burlington High 2-1.
Seven players from CVU play on the Mount Mansfield team.
Alpine races canceled
The lack of snow means a lack of events for CVU’s alpine ski team.
Races set for Dec. 18 at Bolton Valley and Dec. 22 at Burke have been canceled. The next event is scheduled for Jan. 9—the CVU Carnival at Lincoln Peak.
