Woof! Dog Communication in the Human World
Is a yawn always just a yawn? Why does a dog shake off even when it’s not wet? Can a growl actually be a good thing? Is a tail wag always a friendly invitation? Come find out what your dog is trying to tell you. This fun, informative multi-media presentation will demystify dog communication, reveal some common dog-human misunderstandings and explore how dogs and humans relate to and work with each other. Ages 18 and up, Thursday, May 14, 6-7 p.m. at the Old Brick Church with Instructor Deb Helfrich. No dogs needed. Donations accepted at the door.

Adult Golf Clinics
The Recreation Department and Catamount Golf Center are teaming up to offer group beginner to intermediate golf clinics. Proper grip, stance and swings will be covered in each session. Join one or more as you progress up through the skills and become a confident golfer. Ages 18 and up, $130 per session. Instructor: Bill Boldwin, golf director.
Beginner & Advanced Beginner: Tuesdays, May 19- June 16, 6-7:15 p.m.
Advanced Beginner & Intermediate: Wednesdays, May 20- June 17, 6-7:15 p.m.

Lacrosse Clinic, ages 4-9
The Curtis Co-Ed May Community Lacrosse Clinic is geared towards first time and new lacrosse players. The goal is to introduce your child to the exciting game of lacrosse by teaching them the basics through fun drills and games. All of the coaches and lacrosse professionals participate in all of the games and activities. Participants will be broken into age/skill level groups. Your child will be introduced to new drills, stick work and terminology while playing fun games. This clinic is free for Williston residents. However, you must pre-register with Curtis Lacrosse at www.curtislacrosse.com.

Summer Camps Highlights
Day Camps
The Recreation Department offers four day camps during the summer from June 22-Aug. 14, Monday-Friday. Lil’Explorer Camp is for 4- and 5-year-olds. Jr. Explorer Camp is for children completing kindergarten through second grade. Camp Venture is for children completing grades 3-6. Teen Adventure is for teens completing seventh and eighth grade. All the camps offer a traditional camp experience with indoor and outdoor activities, field trips and special theme days.

Summer Trips
Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles
Thursday, June 25. $79 per person. All ages. Afternoon game, 1:35 p.m. start at Fenway Park. A Premier Coach Bus will leave Williston around 8:20 a.m. and return around 9:15 p.m. Seats are in section 2, rows 12-15 and seats 1-14. Limited number of seats.

Saratoga Racetrack
Thursday, August 13, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. $77 per person. Ages 50-plus. Join the Williston and other area recreation departments for a day at the racetrack. Board a Premier Coach Bus for the journey to New York, stopping for lunch at Maestro’s in the heart of Saratoga Springs before visiting the historic racetrack with reserved seating and program at the track. Meet new people and enjoy a day at the track. Price includes transportation by coach bus, lunch and reserved seating and program at racetrack.
