ˇAdult Open Gym Programs
Men’s and women’s open gym basketball times will be 7-10 p.m. This is a correction from the times in the program guide. Men’s open gym sessions will be on Mondays, beginning Sept. 14 and women’s on Thursdays, beginning Sept. 17. They both will be held at the Williston Central School old gym. Adult volleyball is on Monday evenings, 7-10 p.m. at Allen Brook School.
Tennis Programs: Adult & Youth Lessons
Adult Tennis: Are you looking to learn the game or tune your skills? If so, join the tennis staff of The Edge and enjoy some time on the courts. This tennis program is designed for the beginner to intermediate player. Learn or fine-tune the fundamental tennis strokes to include groundstrokes, volleys, serves and overheads. An experienced and certified pro will work with the group in these one-hour lessons. Ages 18 and up, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Sept. 22 – Oct. 15. $90 per person.
Youth Tennis: Children will learn the fundamental tennis strokes through fun, active drills that teach basic stroke technique including groundstrokes, volleys, serves and overheads. Instructors will also use game-based activities. The program is designed for the beginner to intermediate player. Two separate ages groups will be offered: Kindergarten – Grade 2 and Grades 3 – 5. Children should bring their own racquet. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 22 – Oct. 15. K-Grade 2 at 3-4 p.m. Grades 3 – 5 at 4:15-5:15 p.m. $90 per person.
Adult/Senior Fitness Programs
The following is a list of fitness programs that are offered: Bootcamp, ongoing enrollment, first class free and then purchase a punch card; Gentle Yoga, ongoing enrollment, first class free and then purchase a punch card; Record Fit, Sept. 21; Women’s Self Defense, Sept. 22; Senior Mind & Body Exercise, Sept. 23; Circuit Fit, Sept. 24-25. Soccer Camp: GPS Vermont’s full time coaching staff of fully qualified British and American coaches will offer a one day soccer camp during the September school break. Players will be separated by age and ability. There are two time options for 7-14 year olds—half day or full day. GPS Vermont will ensure that every child has an outstanding soccer experience. Wednesday, Sept. 23. Ages 3-6: 9-11 a.m., $25 per child. Ages 7-14: 9a.m. – noon $35 per child, or 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., $50 per child.
