Nov. 3, 2011

A beautiful life was tragically ended on Oct. 23, 2011. Rick Parrott, 58, born in London, England and most recently of Williston, died in the home he lovingly created. Rick loved to travel; Paris, Venice, Hawaii, but his greatest joy came when friends and family gathered in his home. Rick was an avid and accomplished cyclist, logging many miles on Vermont roads including several “App Gap” climbs. He was an inspiring individual. As a thoughtful community member he organized and participated in many charity rides including the Vermont CARES Champ ride with his beloved wife, Kim. Rick was employed by New England Air, where he served as a master plumber and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitter Union #693. He also taught spinning at the Sports and Fitness Edge for many years. Rick is survived by his wife, Kim Duell, and her children, Emma and Julie Frappier; his sister, Penny and her husband, Brian Last, and their two children, of Tewkesbury, England; and his mother-in-law, Lois Duell of South Burlington. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Connie Parrott of Tewkesbury, England. A Service of Remembrance was held on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, 11 a.m. at Corbin and Palmer, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Norm Blais, Esq., 289 College Street, Burlington, Vt. 05401. Climb that stairway to heaven my love to the beat of the bongo song with just one more sandstorm.
