Mary Margaret Cook
Mary Margaret Cook of Williston, 81, died at home on Sept. 11. Born on Jan. 1, 1935 in Malone N.Y. to Asa and Mary (Smith) Rhodes she graduated from Franklin Academy and then went on to Business school and served as an administrative assistant to the GM at General Electric in Burlington.
On December 22, 1954 in Schenectady N.Y., Mary Margaret married Paul Cook, who survives.
Mary loved to shop and spent many fun times with friends in Florida and Vermont buying the best deals. She also loved to play cards — Canasta and 500 Rummy — and to please Paul she played golf in the “Divorce Scramble in Orleans.”
Mary Margaret is survived by her husband Paul, their children: Stephen Cook of Williston, Brian and (Kathleen) Cook of Williston, and Cathy and (Brooks) Cummings of Jericho. Her grandchildren: Kelly Fiorini, Melissa Cook, Bryan Cook, Patrick Cook, Elizabeth Cummings and Christopher Cummings. She also has three great-grandchildren: Andrew Fiorini, Isabelle Cook and Lilly Cook. Mary Margaret was predeceased by her parents and her grandson Michael Cook.
Calling hours were at the Ready Funeral Home, and a funeral Mass was set to be held Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 160 Hinesburg Rd., South Burlington with burial to follow in Resurrection Park, South Burlington.
