Golden anniversary

Rodney and Charlene Muir

Rodney and Charlene (Forant) Muir of Morgan Parkway in Williston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A party with family and friends was held at the Milton Arrowhead Eagle’s Club on Feb. 8. D.J. Robert Wagner officiated the event and the Eagle’s provided a generous buffet. Guests read nuggets of wisdom for a long and happy marriage. An anniversary dance to Vince Gill’s “Look At Us” acknowledged many couples who have enjoyed many years of togetherness, several exceeding 25 years or more, a few approaching 50 years and some celebrating 50 years or more.

Rod and Charlene were married Jan. 30, 1965 by Dr. Paul Hydon at the First Methodist Church in Burlington. Sister of the bride, Barbara Forant, was maid of honor, and brother of the groom, Paul Muir (dec), was best man. They have lived (and accumulated friends) in Richmond, Huntington and Jonesville, but have been Williston residents for the past 32 years.

Rod retired from Windows & Doors by Brownell, while Charlene retired from IBM. They have been enjoying retirement travels to the Caribbean, Florida, Hawaii, Niagara Falls, Myrtle Beach and Ogunquit, Me. while continuing to explore Vermont’s 251 towns.

Mr. and Mrs. Muir have a daughter, Amanda Patnaude, currently living in New York with her husband, Shaun. They have three grandchildren—Nicole Clark, Hollie Patnaude and Brenden Patnaude.

The Muirs thank their family and friends for their love and caring support over the years, and appreciate the many who braved the winter storm to enjoy the celebration.
