Thursday Playtime

Thursdays, 11 a.m. – noon. Starts Sept. 10. Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited for an informal playtime following our Thursday Preschool Music program, which begins at 10:30 a.m. For children birth to age 5. Sponsored by Building Bright Futures.

Preschool Yoga with Danielle

Thursday, Sept. 3 and Friday Sept. 25, 10:30 a.m. Simple yoga poses, stories and songs for children birth to age 5 and their caregivers.

Spanish Musical Playgroup

Saturday, Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m. – noon. Spanish rhymes, books, and songs for children birth to age 5. Includes playtime and snack. Sponsored by Building Bright Futures.

Fall Story Time

Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Starts Sept. 15. Preschoolers are introduced to a variety of books and authors while gaining early literacy skills. Includes a simple craft activity. Sept. 15: Down on the Farm; Sept. 22: Butterflies; Sept. 29: Apples.

Pajama Story Time

Monday, Sept. 21, 6:30 p.m. Bring kids in pajamas with their favorite stuffed animal for stories, a craft and a bedtime snack with Abby Klein. Make a story treasure box. All ages. Presented by Building Bright Futures and Dorothy Alling Memorial Library.

Read to Van Gogh the Cat

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Van Gogh is registered with “Love on a Leash Foundation.” Call 878-4918 to sign up for individual reading sessions. All ages.

Wednesday, Sept. 16, 11 a.m. Gather with others interested in informal discussion on current newsworthy topics.

Library Open House

Wednesday, Sept. 16, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Drop in to get library cards for your family or renew your account(s). (Library cards expire every two years.) Bring something showing your name and current Williston or St. George address to get a card. Learn about our services and get a tour. Have a snack and talk to the staff about your family’s needs or interests.

Brown Bag Book Club

Friday, Sept. 18, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Looking to meet others who love to discuss books? This month we will discuss “Life in a Jar: The Irena Sendler Project” by Jack Mayer. Books available at the front desk. Beverages and dessert provided.

Adult Coloring

Saturday, Sept. 19, 11-12:30 p.m. Switch off the phone, computer and TV. Come try the new coloring book trend that is helping adults benefit from the quiet zen that a coloring session can bring. Books and colored pencils are provided.

Shape and Share Life Stories

Monday, Sept. 21, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Learn to craft engaging stories from life experiences. Led by Recille Hamrell.

Writing Salon

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 12:30-2 p.m. A new monthly opportunity for patrons new to writing or experienced to write in a community that supports them and their work. Participants can write whatever inspires them with the prompt provided. Paula A. Diaco, certified in Gateless Writing, will lead and provide encouraging feedback.

Pastel Painting Workshop

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 6:30 pm. Join local artist Kathryn Jarvis for a pastel painting demonstration and lesson. Learn the basics of pastels and experiment with different paper and supplies. Bring a favorite photo to work from for inspiration. Supplies are provided. Limited to 10 adults. Pre-registration required.
