Girls field hockey conquers Burlington

Last week, Champlain Valley Union High School topped Burlington on its turf, riding high with a 4 to 1 victory, though the Redhawks’ lead was challenged in the last minutes of the game.

Last Friday’s game saw the Redhawks in the lead until just under five minutes were left in the game. Kelsie Saia scored two goals over the course of the game, and Allie Pashby-Rockwood also scored. CVU was in the lead 4-0 until those final minutes, when the Seahorses’ Abby Dubuc scored. There was an own goal for Burlington, too, shot by Lydia Maitland, but put in by the Seahorses. CVU’s goalkeeper Kristy Carlson had one save in the game, while Burlington made 12 saves.
