Observer staff report
A driver was trapped in her vehicle after it rolled and came to rest in approximately two feet of water on Beebe Lane on Jan. 3, according to a press release from the Williston Fire Department.
EMTs were able to help the driver and her dog exit the vehicle “under her own power.”
The woman was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The dog was uninjured.
The Williston Fire Department was called to the scene Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Since responders did not know how deep the water was while enroute, they called Colchester Technical Rescue for assistance, according to a press release.
The car was resting in a stream that feeds into Lake Iroquois.
Williston Fire Department responded with a total of 13 personnel in three engines, two rescues and a command car. The Hinesburg Fire Department also responded.
