The Champlain Valley Union High girls tennis team scored a 6-1 victory Tuesday over Essex High at Shelburne’s Davis Park and will meet the semifinal victor between sixth seed Brattleboro Union and second seed South Burlington High. That contest was scheduled for Wednesday at South Burlington (Observer press time).

The date and time of the title match were not available Wednesday morning. The site will be the Davis Park, home of the unbeaten, top-seeded Redhawks.

The CVU boys lost out to Essex, 6-1 in Tuesday’s semifinals to finish the campaign with an 11-5 record. Doubles players Will Walker and Jack Zullo were the Redhawks winners.

For the girls, state singles champion Kathy Joseph, sister Stephanie Joseph, Elyse Killkelley and MacKenzie Buckman were individual victors. The doubles teams of Meara Heininger-Sara Erickson and Erika Barth-Renee Dauerman also were winners.
