An event at Champlain Valley Union High School last month raised nearly $1,500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Chittenden County.
The high school’s business ethics class held its third annual Family Formal on Jan. 16 with more than 100 local residents attending. Local businesses donated items for a silent auction and raffle at the dance.
Make-A-Wish recipient Evan Ferrara and his family were on hand during the formal. The Ferraras will travel to Florida this fall as part of Evan’s wish. Money raised at the CVU event will go toward granting wishes of foundation children such as Ferrara.
The CVU business ethics course helps develop a sense of social responsibility in students eyeing a business career. Sixteen students take the class taught by Tamie-Jo Dickinson.
