CVU girls lax eyeing two home games

In the wake of its initial loss of the season Tuesday at Middlebury Union, the 3-1 Champlain Valley Union High girls lacrosse team looks forward to a two-game home stand this week.
Bellows Free Academy of St. Albans will be in Hinesburg Thursday (4:30 p.m.) with Essex High the Saturday (11 a.m.) visitor.
While Annie Keen completed a two-game scoring blast with four goals Tuesday, the Redhawks bowed 12-9 to 4-0 Middlebury. Megan Gannon fired three goals and Emma Owens two for CVU. Goalie Bailee Pudvar made 16 stops on a busy afternoon.
Friday, in a come-from-behind 11-10 victory at Mount Mansfield Union, Keen racked up five goals. Gannon and Owens each added two.
