Champlain Valley Union High School hosts its ninth annual Celebrate The Arts Night at the campus in Hinesburg on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Visitors are invited to come enjoy a visual arts show from 6 to 7:30 p.m. showcasing more than 450 pieces created by students who are currently enrolled in CVU arts courses. Other works by students from around the district will also be on display, including pieces by artists from Williston Central School, Shelburne Community School, Hinesburg Elementary and Charlotte Central School.

Every student from CVU’s Intro to Studio Art through Advanced Placement Studio Art will be showing a piece they feel best represents their work from the semester. There will be art activities for the whole family.

Also on view will be practical art work made by students in the Technology Education and Business Education classes, as well as fashion by students in Basic Clothing Construction and Fashion Design classes.

There will be demonstrations by the Engineering Club in the science wing, as well.

And as always, pop-up musical performances will fill the halls of CVU at this event. This year, musical shows include a 6:30 p.m. appearance by CVU’s Jazz Band and a 7 p.m. choral performance.

At 7:30, in the CVU Theater, notable main stage performances will be given by music students, and a sample of live works will be performed by students in acting and public speaking classes.

Refreshments are provided free of charge by students in the Family and Consumer Science classes. All events are free to the public. For more information, contact
