The Red and White skiers took seconds in both the boys and girls divisions in a recent, seven-team giant slalom at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. The girls were nipped by a single, solitary point, 37-38 by Harwood Union High. Cassie Smith led the Redhawks with a fifth place finish.
Sam Darling of CVU came within an eyelash of a victory among the boys, finishing just two-tenths of a second behind Ian Anderson of Stowe, who posted a winning time of 1:44.44. Cody Putre of CVU joined Darling in the top 10, taking ninth.
Stowe won the boys team crown by 23-31 over the Hawks.
