Observer staff report
Champlain Valley Union High students were evacuated and ultimately sent home after a bomb threat at the school at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Principal Adam Bunting sent an automated message to parents shortly after noon, notifying them of the incident.
“While we don’t believe that this threat is credible, we are operating with an abundance of caution,” he stated.
A CVU employee found a note in a boys’ bathroom, according to a press release. Local and state police were notified, and worked with CVU maintenance personnel to sweep the building. No bomb was found.
Afterschool activities at the school were also canceled.
