Notice of Public Hearing

Motor Vehicle and Traffic Ordinance Amendments

Tuesday, July 24th, 2018

7:30 p.m.

Town Hall Meeting Room



Pursuant to Articles VI, VII and IX of the Williston Motor Vehicle and Traffic Ordinance the Williston Selectboard will hold a public hearing at the Williston Town Hall Meeting Room on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment on proposed changes to Article IX and Appendices B & C of the Ordinance.


The proposed changes include the following:

  • Article IX: Prohibiting thru truck travel on the following roadways unless authorized: North Brownell Road, section of South Brownell Road, Walker Hill Road, River Cove Road and Butternut Road.
  • Appendix B: Global changes to formatting of state routes, stop sign additions (creating four-way stop at N. Williston/Mountain View/Gov. Chittenden Roads and adding existing stop signs on U.S. Route 2 in Village).
  • Appendix C: Global changes to formatting of states routes, traffic signal addition (for existing signal at Route 2A/James Brown Drive).


If adopted, the amendment may become effective 60 days after the public hearing and vote by the Selectboard.


Notice is hereby given that any ordinance or amendment thereto adopted by the Town of Williston may be disapproved by a vote of a majority of the qualified voters at an annual or special meeting as provided in 24 V.S.A. §1973.

The resident and non-resident owners of land in the Town of Williston, County of Chittenden, and State of Vermont, are hereby notified that the taxes assessed by such Town for the fiscal years 7/1/16-6/30/17 and 7/1/17-6/30/18 remain either in whole or in part unpaid on the real property hereinbelow described and situated in the Town of Williston and so much of said real property will be sold at a public auction in front of the Town Offices located on Williston Road in the Town of Williston on the 8th day of August, , 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the forenoon, as shall be required to discharge said taxes with costs, unless previously paid:


Being all and the same lands and premises conveyed to Lawrence C. Agee and Jessica F. Erwin by Warranty Deed of Frederic P. Erdman and Zoe P. Erdman dated November 14, 1997, and of record in Book 110, Page 659 of the Town of Williston Land Records. The interest of Jessica F. Erwin was conveyed to Lawrence C. Agee by Quit Claim Deed of Jessica F. Erwin dated July 12, 1999, and of record in Book 118, Page 33 of the aforesaid land records. Being a 38.45-acre parcel of land, together with improvements thereon, known and designated as 414 Butternut Road, Williston, Vermont.
