Adam White was recently hired as the director of communications for Ski Vermont, the non-profit advocacy group that represents the state’s alpine and Nordic ski areas.

White spent the past 12 years covering skiing and snowboarding in Vermont for local and national newspapers, magazines and online publications. He is also a former reporter for the Williston Observer.

“Skiing in Vermont transcends sport; it is an integral part of the state’s culture, history and identity,” the Jericho resident said in an announcement of the hiring. “It is truly a dream come true for me to help represent and promote this sport and industry in the state my family and I call home.”

White succeeds Sarah Wojcik, who served as director of communications and marketing at Ski Vermont before departing in May to take the position of associate editor and new business director at Ski Area Management Magazine.

“Adam’s journalism background, knowledge about and passion for skiing and Vermont makes him a great fit for our team,” said Ski Vermont President Molly Mahar.

The organization, which is also known as the Vermont Ski Areas Association, represents ski areas in marketing, public affairs and governmental affairs. More information is available at skivermont.com.
