Run Vermont/Vermont City Marathon is looking for volunteers for two “Unplugged” half-marathon races on April 9. Volunteers can help with runner support at the start in Colchester, course monitoring and at the finish line in Burlington. Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District needs volunteer teams to help the staff sort and pack trees and shrubs on April 20 and 21 and during the sale on April 23. Volunteers will learn about conservation practices and native plants. Some lifting required. Call Corrina Parnapy at 828-4493, Ext. 110, or email corrina@winooskinrcd.org.


Essex Meals on Wheels is in need of regular, seasonal and substitute drivers to deliver meals to seniors in Colchester, Essex, Jericho, Underhill and Williston. The average route is 1 to 2 hours, and drivers can drive alone or with a friend. Drivers provide social contact and a safety check, which are as important as the meals themselves. Ethan Allen Residence is searching for volunteers, age 18 and older, interested in leading simple art activities such as painting, collage, crafts and more with senior residents. A NEW Place provides housing, food and support services to homeless individuals and is inviting volunteers to prepare a meal (off-site) and bring it to share with residence guests. Call Hannah Andersen at 862-9879 or email hannah@anewplacevt.org.


Generator provides space to artists, printers and others and is looking for volunteers to serve one 3-hour shift a week at on- and off-site events as well as activities tailored to match the volunteer’s skills. Call Beth Robinson at 540-0761 or email info@generatorvt.com.


ReSOURCE – YouthBuild program is an alternative high school and job-skill training program for young men and women 16-24 who have dropped out of school. Students work toward a GED or high school diploma while training in construction work and providing community service. Tutors are needed for basic reading and math skills at the third through 12th grade level. Alternate Thursdays, 1:30-3 p.m. Interview and orientation required.
