Vermont Tech boasts 98 percent placement rate

Vermont Technical College, with campuses in Williston and Randolph, announced this week that the graduating class of 2017 achieved a 98 percent placement rate.

The rate counts graduates who have gone on to either employment or continued education.

The college also announced that 99 percent of employed graduates are working in their field of study.

Vermont Tech’s yearly placement rate is calculated by a six-month outcome survey conducted by Director of Career Development Karry Booska.

“Vermont Tech’s programs, and graduates, are in high demand,” Booska said.

Vermont Tech graduated 565 students in 2017. A total of 474 (84 percent) responded to the survey. According to the survey, there were 271 graduates employed, 193 continuing their education and nine unemployed.

“We are very pleased with these stellar outcomes,” Vermont Tech President Patricia Moulton said. “Vermont Tech has a history of growing successful students into hard-working graduates who enter the workforce with the critical-thinking and practical skills needed to succeed in their fields. To the graduates of the class of 2017: I am very proud of you, and I know you will continue to change the world.”
