Town Band seeking musicians

The Williston Town Band is seeking new members for its 2017 summer concert series.

The band, made up of musically inclined Williston residents of all ages, meets every Wednesday evening in the summer from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the bandstand on the Williston Historic Village green, alternating concerts and rehearsals.

“We have a lot of fun,” said Town Band President Barb Russ. “We have a real mix of people. We have middle school and high school students, young adults in college, folks in the middle of their careers, folks at the end of their careers and who are retired.”

The group is set to kick off its concert series at the community Ice Cream Social on July 3. The band will also march in the Fourth of July parade.

Concerts are set for July 12, July 26, Aug. 9, Aug. 23 on the green. The band will also perform Aug. 26 at 4:30 p.m. before the Vermont Lake Monsters baseball in Burlington.

“We’re out there every Wednesday. People are welcome to listen to our rehearsals,” Russ said.
