GYMNASTS IN RECENT WIN
Led by all-around victor Emma Lieberman, the Champlain Valley Union High gymnasts soared to a 128.5-104.2 victory over visiting Milton High last Wednesday at Green Mountain Gymnastics.
Lieberman was a dominant force, winning three competitions (vault, bars, floor exercise) and taking second in a fourth (balance beam).
The Redhawks return to action Tuesday at Middlebury Union High.
REDHAWKS SCORE IN INDOOR TRACK
CVU athletes chalked up six first places finishes Saturday in an interscholastic indoor track and field meet at the University of Vermont.
Among the girls, Sierra Morton had double wins as she captured the 55-meter dash and tied for the lead in the 300-meter run.
Carly Neeld won the 1,600-meter event and the relay team earned a victory in the 4 x 200.
For the boys, Tawn Tomasi tied for first in the 55 meters and Richard Tegatz won the shot put.
HOCKEY TEAM IN ACTION SATURDAY  
The CVU boys hockey team hopes to return to its winning ways Saturday when it visits Rice at Cairns Arena (2:15 p.m.)
The Green Knights nipped the Redhawks 2-1 Dec. 11 in the opening round of the Beech Tournament.
More recently, the 2-3-1 Redhawks have lost two in a row, falling 4-1 to Bellows Free Academy of St. Albans at Cairns last Wednesday, and 2-1 to Rutland High on the road Saturday.
