July Fourth Celebration

“Friends & Neighbors” is this year’s theme to showcase how Williston residents, businesses and organizations support each other and strive to be good neighbors. Parade and vendor registration forms are available at willistonrec.org. There is no cost to register, but registration is required so participants are aware of parade rules and receive updates. A list of this year’s activities is available on the website. The parade and fireworks will be on Wednesday, July 4.

Great Escape Discount Tickets

Tickets and parking passes to the Great Escape, N.Y., are now on sale at the town clerk’s office. Tickets are $40 each for all ages (2 and under are admitted free). A parking pass is $18. Tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the office, 7900 Williston Road.

Adult Programs

Planning Weeknight Meals for the Family

At 4 p.m. each day, do you find yourself stressed about what to make for dinner? You’re not alone. In this workshop, we’ll cover some tips and tools for creating a plan for weeknight suppers based on your family’s schedule and food preferences. You’ll go home with a three-to-five-week menu plan. This is a Hannaford supermarket program. Join Joanne Heidkamp, MS, RDN, registered dietitian nutritionist for Hannaford. Ages 18-plus, Wednesday, June 27, 6:30-8 p.m. $10 resident/$15 nonresident.

Golf Clinics

The proper grip, stance and swings are covered in these Catamount Golf Center group golf clinics. Come learn, hone your skills and become a confidant golfer. Instructor: Dan Lehmann, PGA Professional. Ages 18-plus. Beginners and advanced beginners, June 19-July 17, Tuesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. Advanced beginners and intermediates, June 20-July 18, Wednesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. $140 resident/$145 nonresident per session.

Youth Programs

Track and Field Program

Children learn the basics of running, jumping, throwing and relays. Each week they warm up with Parisi Speed School instructors, then practice different events. There are local meets with other rec departments and a state meet Saturday, July 21. Practices are at CVU. Instructors are Parisi staff and parent volunteers. Ages 7-14. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 20-July 21, 6:15-7:45 p.m. $50 resident/$55 nonresident.

Jr. Soccer Camp

Global Premier Soccer Vermont is offering a one-week soccer camp for 3-6-year-olds. The age-appropriate curriculum and expert professional coaches will create an environment to develop motor and coordination skills in a fun atmosphere. Monday-Friday, June 18-22, 9-10:30 a.m. $90 resident/$95 nonresident.

Quickstart Tiny Tennis

Fun lessons designed to introduce kids, with an adult, to the game of tennis. Players work with colorful props that aid with visual tracking and motor skills. Equipment is scaled down and balls are slower moving to ensure success in this non-competitive program. Instructor: Ila Sewall of GymKids. Ages 3-5, 5:45-6:30 p.m. and ages 5-8- 6:45-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 18-22. $47 resident/$52 Nonresident.

Camp Registration

Registration is now open for all day and enrichment summer camps. June 8 is the deadline to determine if a camp has enough campers to be offered. Registered participants of camps that are cancelled will be notified and can transfer to another camp or get a full refund. All payments for camp are due June 15.

GPS Soccer Camp

Global Premier Soccer Vermont will host a Technical Training Camp. Campers learn a variety of techniques to help them with their dribbling ability, short- and long-range passing, principles of defending and different shooting styles. The aim is to instill confidence so players can use the techniques in competition. Register for half- or full-day options. Ages 7-14, Monday-Friday, June 18-22. 9 a.m.-12 p.m. $120 resident/$130 nonresident or 9 a.m-3 p.m. $195 resident/$205 nonresident.

Camps- June 18-22

The following four camps are for the week of June 18-22, the week after school lets out. Register is now open.

GPS Soccer Camps — Ages 3-6 and 9-12. Half- or full-day options, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Exploring Shakespeare — Ages 8-12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Golf Camps — Ages 8-14, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. or ages 11-14, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Catamount Golf Center.

Horse Camp — Ages 8-13, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
