Adult Golf Clinics

Catamount Golf Center is offering group golf clinics. Proper grip, stance and swings will be covered. Join one or more as you progress through the skills and become a confident golfer. Instructor: Bill Boldwin, golf director. Ages 18 and up. Beginners and advanced beginners meet Tuesdays, June 21 to July 19, 6-7:30 p.m. Advanced beginners and intermediates meet Wednesdays, June 22 to July 20, 6-7:30 p.m. $140 per session.

Youth Golf Lessons

Catamount Golf Center is offering group lessons for children. Lessons will include developing a grip and set-up, full swing analysis and pitching, chipping and putting techniques. Basic rules and etiquette will also be taught.Instructor: Bill Boldwin, golf director. Ages 5-7, and adult presence is required. Tuesdays, July 12 to August 2, 4-4:45 p.m. Ages 8-11, Wednesdays, July 13 to August 3, 5-5:45 p.m. $80 per session.

Squirts Sports Camps

Soccer Squirts

Soccer Squirts will introduce children to the game of soccer. Participants learn the fundamental skills of soccer through a program of structured activities, fun-based games and scrimmages. Instructors: U.S. Sports Institute staff. Ages 3-5, Monday-Friday, July 11-15, 5-6 p.m. $100.

Total Sports Squirts

Experience a new sport each day of the program. Participants have the opportunity to try lacrosse, soccer, basketball, t-ball, floor hockey, flag football, parachute games and more in a safe, structured environment. Instructors: U.S. Sports Institute staff. Ages 3-5, Monday-Friday, July 18-22, 5-6 p.m. $100.

Independence Day

Parade

July 4, 10 a.m. If you or your group wants to take part in the parade, please fill out a Parade Entry Form, found on our website and return to the Recreation Office before June 24.

Firecracker 5K Fun Run

The Annual Firecracker 5K Fun Run will be held on Sunday, July 3 at 6 p.m. Registration opens at 5 p.m. at the Community Park near the restrooms, or pre-register on the American Cancer Society website at relayforlife.org/firecracker5kvt. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life Nordic Style event. Questions? Contact Matthew Goldweber at matthew.goldweber@cancer.org.

Ice Cream Social

The Williston Historical Society will hold its traditional Ice Cream Social on July 3 at 7 p.m. It would appreciate community members’ help with two tasks.

1. Picking Strawberries: Meet at the Federated Church parking lot at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 1 to carpool to Paul Mazza’s gardens in Essex to pick strawberries. (In case of rain, it will be July 2).

2. Ice Cream Scoopers: Scooping begins at 6:45 p.m. on the town green and has two shifts of one hour each. Please contact Terry Macaig at macaig@msn.com if you can help.

Great Escape Discount Tickets

Day tickets and parking passes are on sale at the Town Clerk’s office. Purchase in advance, save money, and there’s no line! Tickets are $39 each, regularly priced $58.99. Parking passes are $18 each, regularly priced $20. Tickets can be purchased Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Youth Fishing Clinic

This three-hour program includes: fish identification; parts of a rod; hooks, lures and bait and how to stay safe while fishing. Everything kids learn will be put to use as they get the opportunity to fish. Instructors: The Fly Rod Shop staff. Grades 1-8. Saturday, June 25, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. $40.

Drawing Camps

Pastel Drawing: Ocean Life

Five, fun-filled days await campers as they explore ocean life and learn to draw and color with pastels. They will create detailed, pastel compositions focusing on a different ocean-themed subject. Instructors: Young Rembrandt staff. Coed, ages 6-12, Monday-Friday, July 18-22, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. $130.

Pastel Drawing: Colorful Critters

Animal lovers rejoice. Campers will learn pastel drawing and texturing techniques to illustrate whimsical bees, a fanciful army of frogs, a striking owl and more artistic critters. Instructors: Young Rembrandt staff. Coed, ages 6-12, Monday-Friday, July 25-29, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. $130.

Draw Monsters, Creatures and Creeps

Campers will learn to draw and cartoon monsters of all shapes, sizes and colors and complete a large composition. Instructors: Young Rembrandt staff. Coed, ages 6-12, Monday-Friday, July 18-22, 1-4:30 p.m. $130.

Pirate Camp

Explore the world of pirates with new drawing adventures. Pirates, treasure maps, sunken treasures, parrots, a pirate ship and more will be the inspiration for cartoon and realistic drawing techniques. Instructors: Young Rembrandt staff. Coed, ages 6-12, Monday-Friday, July 25-29, 1-4:30 p.m. $130.
