On Nov. 21, James D. Jones, 45, of Essex Junction, died in an accident on Vermont 2A just south of Old Creamery Road. Police said Jones’ Ford Explorer “exited the roadway and struck several trees.” At the time of the crash, it was dark and the road conditions were clear and dry, the report notes. The cause of the accident is under investigation and no other information was available as of press time.
Natalie A. Kirk, 20, of Williston was charged with domestic assault on Nov. 17 after punching her mother in the eye and head during an altercation at their home, according to a police affidavit. Kirk was also charged with marijuana possession after police confiscated four grams of marijuana from her at the scene, according to police reports. Kirk was taken to the Williston Police station for processing.
Thomas E. Lussier, 30, of Woodbury was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Nov. 17, according to police reports. He was taken to Chittenden County Correctional Center and held for lack of $1,000 bail, the report notes. No other information was released.
A purse was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the Toys“R”Us parking lot on Nov. 18, according to police reports. Police remind residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times.
Driving with suspended license
William P. McGrath, 35, of South Burlington was charged with driving with a suspended license-criminal on Nov. 18, according to police reports. He was cited to appear in court on Jan. 3, 2011.
