Vehicle crashes

On Jan. 10, Vermont State Police in Williston received several calls regarding multiple vehicle crashes on Interstate 89 between exits 11 and 15. A snow squall passed through the area and quickly changed the conditions of the roadways, covering them with black ice. Troopers responded to eight separate crashes in a one hour period. In one crash, the driver was taken to Fletcher Allen as a precaution with minor back pain. Tow operators assisted in pulling vehicles back on to the roadway or removing them due to damage.
