Impersonating an officer
Elias Howard, 22, of Richmond was charged with impersonating a police officer on Aug. 24, according to police reports. A woman noticed Howard “smoking a joint” in his car in the parking lot of a Williston store; and when she returned to her car after shopping, Howard “rapped on the window” of her car, pulled up his shirt and showed her a handgun, saying he was an “undercover cop,” according to the report. No other information was released.
Theft
Leah Dugan, 28, and Richard Rodger, 35, both of West Addison, were charged with “theft of services” at Ninety Nine restaurant on Aug. 23, according to police reports. Rodger was cited to appear in court, and Dugan was taken to Chittenden County Correctional Center on an outstanding warrant, according to the report.
Litterer
Someone dumped 100 tires behind storage units on Essex Road in Williston on Aug. 24, according to police reports. Anyone with information is asked to call Williston Police at 878-6611.
Panhandlers
A man and woman were “panhandling” in the parking lot of Shaw’s on Aug. 26, according to police reports. They were using the money to purchase alcohol, the report notes. Police arrived and told the couple they were not allowed to panhandle in the area.
Wallet and knife found
A wallet and knife were found on the patio of Mexicali Grill & Cantina on Aug. 26, according to police reports. To claim the items, contact police at 764-1152.
Property damage
A Brennan Woods family returned from vacation on Aug. 27 and discovered that some of their personal property had been damaged, including a lacrosse net that was “cut,” according to police reports. Anyone with information is asked to call Williston Police at 878-6611.
Driving under the influence
Stephen J. Waud, 30, of Richmond was charged with driving under the influence on Aug. 28, according to police reports. His blood alcohol test registered .121, according to the report. The legal limit for driving in Vermont is .08. He was cited to appear in court.
Fireworks and detox
Police received a report on Aug. 28 that fireworks were being set off near Allen Brook School, according to police reports. Police arrived to find “3 intoxicated males” who were taken into protective custody and transported to a detoxification facility, according to the report. No charges were filed.
Not welcome anymore
The “Welcome to Williston” sign on Essex Road near Agway was reported stolen on Aug. 29, according to police reports. The case is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Williston Police at 878-6611.
Driving with suspended license
• Following a motor vehicle stop on Aug. 24, John W. Cole, 55, of Starksboro was charged with driving with a suspended license-criminal, according to police reports. No other information was released.
• Sean M.K. Parker, 29, of Hinesburg was charged with driving with a suspended license on Aug. 30 following a motor vehicle stop, according to police reports. He was cited to appear in court.
