Paying Tribute: Williston remembers 9/11

Share

During a ceremony marking the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, members of the Williston Fire and Police departments read aloud the names of firefighters and law enforcement officers who died this year in the line of duty nationwide.

“Those who gave their lives so others continue will never be forgotten,” said Police Chief Todd Shepard.

“We just think it’s important to remember that day and all those who lost their lives,” said Williston resident Shelly Stewart, who attended with her husband, Joe.

I take frequent walks in my neighborhood and surrounding sidewalks/roads on Industrial Avenue and Rt 2-A and occasionally see what appears to be a dog-poop bag, nicely tied, but simply left there in the road or on the sidewalk. I would like to remind dog-walkers that this is not appropriate. Please carry it off.

Thank you for meeting your legal responsibilities.
