Otley, Kinneston honored

Emily Kinneston, a senior leader of the undefeated Champlain Valley Union High girls Vermont Division 1 basketball champions, has been named the state’s Girls Basketball Player of the Year by Gatorade.

Kinneston was also named Division 1 girls’ player of the year Saturday by the Vermont Basketball Coaches Association. CVU head coach Ute Otley was named the girls’ Division 1 Coach of the Year.

In the Gatorade announcement, Kinneston was cited for her all-around play (averages of 11.8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists) and academic accomplishments, such as a 3.94 grade average.

Otley, who directed the Redhawks to their second straight title this winter and a winning streak that has reached 47 straight games, guided the North Division 1 and 2 senior all-stars to a 106-56 triumph over the South at Windsor High Saturday.

Kinneston (11 points), Amanda Beatty and Kaelyn Kohlasch were Otley’s Redhawks on the winning squad.

almost 3 decades ago when williston started it’s development review process the public works section was pushing for a wider roadway typical for residential streets. The town adopted 30 ft widths vs 24ft. That’s 6/24 (30%) additional impervious area and runoff that needs to treated before flowing into ALLEN BROOK. The town and selectboard have indicated a lack of interest to reach out and help communties like mine that have had expired stormwater permits for more then a decade. Its always been a wait and see, well I see where this headed now.
