The incoming Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, scheduled to open in Williston next month, is looking to add 170 jobs to its new location. It will be the first Texas Roadhouse in the state and restaurant spokesperson Travis Doster said it would need a large and qualified staff to be successful.
Located on Route 2 just west of the intersection with Route 2A, Texas Roadhouse needs employees. Doster said the restaurant must still fill 130 positions.
Doster said 40 percent of the jobs being offered are full-time positions, with 60 percent being part-time. Many of the part-time jobs would be serving positions, with 25 to 30 hours per week, he said.
Besides waiters and waitresses, the 170 jobs include positions for bartenders, hostesses, cooks, meat cutters and bakers. Doster said much of the food prepared at Texas Roadhouse restaurants is from scratch, meaning staffers bake their own bread and butchers process their own meat on site.
“We use a lot of folks,” Doster said.
The tentative opening date is Dec. 15, with a “soft opening.” Doster said cooking staff would be training in the prior weeks, learning the menu. Much of the food prepared during that time would be donated to organizations such as the Williston Community Food Shelf.
“It’s a lot of food, but it all goes to a good cause,” Doster added.
Doster urged people interested in working for the restaurant to stop by its location and pick up an application at the trailer on the work site.
