For Youth

AFTER-SCHOOL TUESDAYS

Maker Lab: Oct. 17, 2-3 p.m.

Use 3D pens, make squishy circuit creatures and experiment with LittleBits electronics kits. Grades three and up. w Drop-In Halloween Craft: Oct. 24, 2-3 p.m. All ages.

FALL STORY TIME

Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Stories and a simple craft activity. All ages. Oct. 17: Five Senses; Oct. 24: Animals at Night; Oct. 31: Pumpkins.

PRESCHOOL MUSIC

Mondays at 11 a.m. with Peter Alsen and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. with Marcie Hernandez. Second Thursday of each month: Spanish Music with Constancia Gomez. Non-Spanish speakers welcome. For children up to age 5 with a caregiver. No pre-registration.

THURSDAY PLAYTIME

Thursdays, 11 a.m.–noon. Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited for an informal play time following our Preschool Music program. For children birth to age 5.

PRESCHOOL YOGA WITH DANIELLE

Friday, Oct. 13, 10:30 a.m. Simple yoga poses, stories and songs for children birth to age 5 and their caregivers.

SPANISH MUSICAL PLAYGROUP

Saturday, Oct. 14, 10:30 a.m.- noon. Spanish rhymes, books and songs for children birth to age 5. Presented by Constancia Gomez. Includes playtime and snack. Non-Spanish speakers welcome.

READ TO A DOG

Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Bring a book and read to one of our registered Therapy Dogs of Vermont. All ages. Call 878-4918 to pre-register for individual sessions.

CHESS CLUB

Wednesday, Oct. 18, 5:30-7 p.m. Have you wanted to learn how to play, revisit or just love the game of chess? Come alone or bring a friend and play with members of our community. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

Thursday, Oct. 19, 5:30-7 p.m. Take better pictures. This club is for anyone interested in photography who wants to improve and share their skills. Explore both basic and advanced techniques, and go out and take shots. Grade nine to adult.

WILLISTON COMMUNITY PEACE PROJECT ART UNVEILING

Wednesday, Oct. 25, 6-7:30 p.m. Join us at the library to see the art community members created to show what brings them peace. Open house. Refreshments served. Programs for Adults

BROWN BAG BOOK CLUB

Saturday, Oct. 21, 10:30-12:30 p.m. Susan Sontag — agent, editor and contract advisor for Scholastic, Macmillan and Warner Books/ Little Brown and Company — will share the concrete steps to take an original idea to royalty agreements and become a published author. Also learn how to utilize the most cutting-edge technologies and social media services to increase a writer’s visibility to literary agents, publishers and readers.
