Preschool Story Time

Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. Includes a simple craft activity. Feb. 21: At the Beach. All ages. No story time Feb. 28.

Preschool Music

Mondays, 11 a.m. with Peter Alsen and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. with Marcie Hernandez. (Except Monday, February 20: Library Closed). For children up to age 5 with a caregiver. No pre-registration.

Thursday Playtime

Thursdays, 11 a.m.-noon. Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited for an informal play time following our Preschool Music program. For children birth to age 5. Sponsored with Building Bright Futures.

Read to a Cat

Tuesday, Feb. 28, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Bring a book and read to Van Gogh, a certified therapy cat with “Love on a Leash” Foundation. Pre- register for a reading session or stop by to say hello. All ages welcome.

Brown Bag Book Club

Adult Coloring

Saturday, Feb.18, 11-12:30 p.m. Take time to recharge your emotional self with an adult coloring session. Books and colored pencils are provided.

Audubon Birds

Wednesday, Feb. 22, 6:30 p.m. Shirley and Bob Johnson present “Birds of Southeast Brazil.” This talk will encompass many colorful and prevalent bird species of Southeast Brazil.

The 89th annual Academy Awards are coming up on Feb. 26. The library can help you get caught up on some of the nominees with our collection of DVDs, music, and books.

On DVD

“Captain Fantastic.” Best Lead Actor nomination for Viggo Mortensen.

“Florence Foster Jenkins.” Best Supporting Actress nomination for Meryl Streep.

“Hell or High Water.” Nominated for multiple awards, including Best Picture.

“The Jungle Book.” Nominated for Best Visual Effects.

“Life, Animated.” Nominated for Best Documentary Feature.

“A Man Called Ove.” Nominated for multiple awards, including Best Foreign Film.

“OJ: Made in America.” Nominated for Best Documentary Feature.

music On CD

“LaLa Land” Original motion picture soundtrack. Nominated for Best Original Score and Best Song. The movie, coming later this year on DVD, is also nominated for a long list of awards, including Best Picture.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them: The Original Screenplay” by J.K. Rowling. The foundation for the Best Costume Design nominated film.

“Hidden Figures, The Untold True Story of Four African-American Women Who Helped Launch Our Nation Into Space” by Margot Lee Shetterly. The book that became the basis for the Best Picture nominated film.
