Lacrosse takes on Spaulding, MMU

The Champlain Valley Union High School boys lacrosse team will face Spaulding High on its home turf on Saturday, after playing Essex High on Wednesday afternoon, after the Observer’s press deadline.

The boys went into Wednesday’s game with a 6-2 record, after two recent wins.

On Monday, the Redhawks beat Mount Mansfield Union High 8-7 in a makeup game, postponed from a rained-out April 13 game.

On May 2, the Redhawks beat South Burlington High under the lights 9-7.

The 3-3 Champlain Valley Union High School girls lacrosse team is set to travel to Mount Mansfield Union High Friday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Essex topped CVU 4-13. Brenna Gorman and Lucia Llona each scored twice.

On Thursday night, South Burlington High defeated the Redhawks 7-18.

    I take frequent walks in my neighborhood and surrounding sidewalks/roads on Industrial Avenue and Rt 2-A and occasionally see what appears to be a dog-poop bag, nicely tied, but simply left there in the road or on the sidewalk. I would like to remind dog-walkers that this is not appropriate. Please carry it off.
