The Champlain Valley Union High boys lacrosse team returns to its home grass Friday and Tuesday with Bellows Free Academy of St. Albans and Spaulding High the visiting contestants. Both games have 4 p.m. starts.
Coach Dave Trevithick’s defending Division 1 champions took a 4-1 record to Middlebury Union High Wednesday (Observer press time) in the wake of Saturday’s home opening 16-2 triumph over 0-3 Mount Mansfield Union.
Triple goal getters for the Redhawks Saturday were Nevin DiParlo and Matt Palmer as the CVU offense unloaded 28 shots on the Mount Mansfield cage. Ryan Keelan and Kaleb Godbout each bagged a pair of scores. Steele DuBrul notched a goal and helped out on two others.
The triumph got CVU back into the win column following a 9-8 nudging under the lights at South Burlington High last Thursday evening.
Cam Nolting’s late tally earned the victory for the 4-0 Rebels.
Elliott Mitchell fired three goals for the Redhawks who had a 20-16 edge in shots on net.
