Guard medical team heads to islands for Irma relief

A Vermont National Guard medical team of soldiers and airmen departed Saturday from South Burlington for St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands in support of Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The group consists of nurses, physician assistants, medical administrators, combat medics and a doctor. They will provide medical support to National Guard members working in the Virgin Islands.
