Firefighters all geared up for Special Olympics ‘Heroes’ run

Three members of the Essex Fire Department ran the 5K Special Olympics Torch Run in full turn-out gear (less boots) including Scott packs (L to R) Cody Carpenter, AJ Leclair and Eric Fenton. Other runners went out to meet them at the finish.

Special Olympics Vermont hosted its “Run with the Heroes” 5K on Sunday at Williston Community Park. The ourse took runners from the park, up North Williston Road and back on Old Stage Road. Proceeds went to support sports training and competition opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities in Vermont.
