CVU stars set for Twin State soccer Saturday

Players for both sides begin workouts Thursday at the Franklin Pierce College Campus in Rindge, N.H. for Saturday’s 39th Annual Lions Twin State Soccer Cup matches between graduated all-star high school seniors from Vermont and New Hampshire.

The girls game will get underway at 4 p.m. with the boys match to follow.

Vermont Division 1 champion Champlain Valley Union High is represented on both teams.

The girls have goalie Lily Harris along with midfielders Taylor Goldsborough and Kate Raszka.

Representing the Redhawk boys are the up front combination of Shane Haley and Noah Lieberman.

    I take frequent walks in my neighborhood and surrounding sidewalks/roads on Industrial Avenue and Rt 2-A and occasionally see what appears to be a dog-poop bag, nicely tied, but simply left there in the road or on the sidewalk. I would like to remind dog-walkers that this is not appropriate. Please carry it off.
