I have to agree with the community. Maple Leaf Farm says they will leave some of the property for public use. And states that the town has nothing to worry about safety for families.Which I find hard to believe after a friend was telling us about the horrifying experience that her family member had while at Maple Leaf Farm. On top of the experience people were walking in the woods without supervision of a Maple Leaf Farm staff member and drugs being brought in.

Response to 'American Morality?'
Chandler is without any doubt a bright student taking seriously what the teacher presents. This is Chandlers summary what has been presented to him by the teacher: ‘I believe that we have no right to hold ourselves above even many of the perpetrators of the horrendous crimes this class has spent a semester studying’.
The class has spent a semester studying the horrendous crimes America committed against the Native Americans and against the world.
I am not saying we shall not talk about our misdeeds, but we shall teach about them in the historical context. The sad irony is that the teacher can teach this anti American garbage, because he lives in this ‘horrible’ country. No one pays attention to the fact that the whole world made bigger progress in enforcing human rights, advancing living standard, health care and many more areas since the WWII than was made since the beginning of civilization. This progress was not made thanks to France, or Soviet Union, but it was made solely thanks to the United States. And it shall be taught in our schools.

I thought "baseline" budget meant a budget that keeps services exactly as they are now. By including the decision packets, which are additions to the current services, you are adding about 1% to the Budget yet still calling it a baseline budget . Seems like a way to sneak in what the board & administrators want. How about a REAL baseline budget presented!!!!

Also, in the School Bell there is an initiative by the Director of Special Education to also add something - Co-Teaching - the act of adding Special Educators to the classroom to work in conjunction with the teacher at the EXPENSE of cutting paraeducators that work in the classroom and putt the kids for small groups and 1-1 work. He states that few would be let go. How about some facts?!!! - How many would be let go and what would this initiative push the budget to? Special Educators make about 4 times what a classroom paraeducator makes.

Lastly, why decrease paraeducators who work with our children. Why not Teacher's Assistants who photocopy, do recess and lunch and attendance. You could easily combine house TA's so that you had 1 per every 8 classrooms. Or, quite frankly, have none. This is a HUGE luxury that only Williston has and maybe it is time to let that go.

Sean - I am so proud of you for your dedication to equality. Our family too is dedicated to Scouting in Vermont, but it pains us to know that this discriminatory policy exists. You exemplify the character of a true Eagle Scout. We look forward to the day when the words "A Scout is Equal" can be part of Scout Law. Because of the bold statements made by Scouts like yourself, I have no doubt that this will be changed. I just hope it happens soon. Thank you for being so brave. Right on!

Do you know what would have alleviated any perceived Mountain View Rd. traffic problem? The )*^%&&^ Circ. highway!!! Oh, nevermind. We don't want to trade a few acres of wetlands for Williston's economic development and as a Williston resident I so much enjoy losing out on tax revenue that could ultimately lower our property tax rates.
