Bird displays land at library

The Birds of Vermont Museum has installed a display at the library detailing the behavior of native bird species in the winter months.

For the month of November, the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library is hosting a birding display curated by the Birds of Vermont Museum.

The Huntington-based museum has filled the library’s two display cases, one near the library entrance and the other in the youth area, with two different displays.

The ‘Cold Winter, Warm Birds’ display showcases the many adaptations birds employ in Vermont to survive the challenges of weather and food availability in winter. The other display, ‘Birding in Vermont,’ encourages observers to participate in data gathering about the status of different bird populations, especially during the winter, and submit it to researchers.
