Around Town

At its May 7 meeting, the Williston Selectboard appointed six new members to the Community Justice Board—Grace Usher, Lillian Colasurdo, Sara Mikell, Kelley Jordick, Susan Thompson and Michelle Rath.

Usher, the youngest member, is a junior at Champlain Valley Union High School. She hopes to incorporate her work on the board into her CVU graduation challenge requirement.

In addition to the six candidates interviewed by the Selectboard on May 7, Community Justice Board coordinator Stephan LaTulippe has recommended Jeannette DiScala for the final board opening.

Other local boards with volunteer openings include the Cemetery Commission, Development Review Board, Winooski Valley Park District and the Historic and Architectural Advisory Commission—plus the Channel 17 Board, which is seeking an alternate.

Those interested in volunteering should email Town Manager Rick McGuire at rmcguire@willistontown or call 878-0919 to request an application packet.
