Local graduate

Emily Faraone of Williston received a Bachelor of Arts from Roger Williams University in the spring.

Student makes dean’s list

Timothy Clarke was named to the Savannah College of Art and Design dean’s list for the spring 2013 quarter.

Students named to honor societies

St. Lawrence University students Jessica A. Novak and Aden M. Peterson, both of Williston, were selected for membership in the St. Lawrence University chapter of Beta Beta Beta, the national biological honorary society.

To be eligible for membership, a student must have an overall grade-point average of at least 3.25, have completed four biology courses and have earned a 3.5 GPA in those courses.

St. Lawrence student Katherine E. Buxton of Williston was elected to the university’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the national academic honor society.

Election to Phi Beta Kappa is one of the highest distinctions of academic achievement. To be considered, students must earn a 3.5 or better cumulative grade-point average by the close of their junior year, and have completed six semesters at St. Lawrence.

  1. Louis M. Izzo says:

I take frequent walks in my neighborhood and surrounding sidewalks/roads on Industrial Avenue and Rt 2-A and occasionally see what appears to be a dog-poop bag, nicely tied, but simply left there in the road or on the sidewalk. I would like to remind dog-walkers that this is not appropriate. Please carry it off.

Thank you for meeting your legal responsibilities.
